Cookie Policy
Last updated: 4 June 2026
1. Our approach
Foudre keeps client-side storage to the minimum. We set only essential cookies needed to run the service, and our analytics is self-hosted and cookieless. We use no advertising cookies and no third-party trackers (no Google Analytics, no Meta Pixel).
2. Essential cookies & local storage
| Name | Type | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| foudre_session | Cookie (HTTP-only) | Keeps you signed in. Expires after 30 days. |
| wine-theme | Local storage | Remembers your light/dark theme choice. |
| foudre:cookie-consent | Local storage | Stores your cookie preferences so we don't ask again. |
These are strictly necessary and cannot be switched off, as the service would not function without them.
3. Analytics (cookieless)
We measure aggregate traffic with a self-hosted Umami instance. It is configured to set no cookies and to store no personally identifying information — it derives anonymous, aggregate visit counts only. Because it neither stores data on your device nor identifies you, it does not require prior consent under the ePrivacy Directive; we still surface it in our consent banner for transparency and let you opt out.
4. Managing your choices
On your first visit a banner lets you accept or decline analytics. You can change your mind at any time by clearing the foudre:cookie-consent entry in your browser’s site data, which makes the banner reappear. Blocking the essential session cookie in your browser will prevent you from signing in.
5. Third parties
We do not embed third-party advertising or social widgets that set cookies on our pages. See our Privacy Policy for the full list of subprocessors.
